The George Ilminster -a traditional British pub in the medieval market town of Ilminster, Somerset.

The George Ilminster is nestled in the heart of Ilminster’s market square. The George has long been a beloved fixture of the town. Situated on the former site of The George Hotel, this Grade II Listed building is steeped in local history dating back to the 17th Century.

Now, The George Ilminster is back, and better than ever. We have embraced a new chapter for this historic building, blending its traditional charm with fresh energy and a modern touch. It has been carefully restored to maintain the pub's heritage while creating a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

Situated just a mile from the A303, it is a great stop off for lunch or dinner in Ilminster.

Food & Drink

The George Ilminster pub offers food and drink in Ilminster. We are passionate about good times and good food. Our menu changes daily, offering an array of choice with something to suit everyone. We use local suppliers for much of what we produce including the town’s butcher for meat, and our house cider is made just a few miles away.

We are a pub with food. We are a casual and cosy venue, with a relaxed atmosphere.

Lunch is served 12-2:30pm and dinner from 5-8pm Tuesday to Saturday.

Sunday Roast in Ilminster - on Sundays, we serve our beautiful traditional roast lunch from 12-3pm. Booking advised. We serve the best roast dinner in Ilminster, no question.
